Boorloo Care services assist with temporary- or ongoing- support of daily tasks in a shared living environment which is safe and supportive.
We focus on your development, enhancement, and maintenance of domestic skills to enable independent living for you. Our services may include:
These services may also be delivered through shared living arrangements such as unit or host family arrangements. This service provides support within a variety of different shared living arrangements including:
1. Supported Independent Living (SIL)
We provide continuous (up to 24/7) assistance / supervision of daily tasks in a shared living environment of 2-7 care-recipients. Can be provided in SDA / regular homes. SIL is for care-recipients with higher-support needs who need some help at home all the time; includes:
2. Short-Term Accommodation (STA) including Respite
Assists with funding for care-support and accommodation costs for up to 14 days (at any one time) away from a care-recipients usual home. You may have a short stay by yourself, or with other care-recipients. This gives usual carers a break and provides a new environment for the care-recipient.
3. Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
Assists with funding for accommodation for a care-recipient to live in (for up to 90 days) if they cannot move into their long-term home yet as their disability supports are not ready. Does not include day-to-day costs of living such as food, internet, electricity, or personal care supports in the home.
4. Individual Living Options (ILO)
ILO focus on the care-recipients’ requirements for their living arrangements (personalised and flexible); this includes living alone, co-residency, host arrangements, and living together options. ILO is for care-recipients with low- to moderate- support needs and is an alternative to group home services. ILO allows you to make choices about where you live, who you live with, and how you want to be supported. Includes:
Stage 1: Exploration and design – sourcing and managing the property i.e., where you want to live, with who, support required, and who you want to provide that support
Stage 2: Support model – which is the care / supports provided in the home
